Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Cusco, a city located at 3,400 meters altitude, it is normal to feel the air is slightly thinner. Therefore, our team will be waiting for you to take you to the hotel, where you will experience the famous Coca tea that will help with your acclimatization (not recommended for people with high blood pressure). Next, our team will assist you with check-in and present you with a city map, explaining the main tourist attractions, as well as recommending restaurants, exchange houses, shops and much more. We advise you to rest for a few hours to take full advantage of your free afternoon and evening in Cusco.

Optional Visit:
If you feel your acclimatization went well, take advantage and attend the presentation of typical Andean music and dances at the Qosqo Art Native Center (from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM). We recommend arriving 45 minutes early. The entrance ticket is already included in the package (confirm this information with your travel consultant).

⚠️ Note: During tours and trekking in Cusco, we now have Starlink satellite internet on board our transport.

Our reference point for the beginning will be in front of the Church of Santo Domingo, located near the Qoricancha, which means Wall of Gold or Temple of the Sun, here will be our first stop. We will continue with a visit to four other archaeological sites: The Sacsayhuaman Fortress, famous for the celebration of Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun); continuing to Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay, the famous Inca shower. Before we finish the tour, we will make a special stop to interact with Peruvian llamas and alpacas. Next, we will visit Ollantaytambo, a beautiful example of Inca urban planning, where we will have the opportunity to walk through the village streets and interact with the local culture. Our tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas ends around 4 PM in Ollantaytambo, to move on to the second part of your day: accommodation at the fantastic glamping Star Dome, on top of the mountains surrounding the last point of our tour. If you do not wish to complete the entire trail, the guide will ask if you are interested in renting a horse (option not included in the package). At the end of the trail, we will reach the highest point, the Colored Mountain, located at 5,200 meters altitude, where we will have free time to appreciate the panoramic view and take photos of this unique landscape. Next, we will begin the descent, which is faster, to the town of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch. FAQs

When the tour is canceled due to weather conditions, do I get a refund?
Tour cancellations due to bad weather conditions do not receive refunds, as these are factors beyond our control.

If my trip is canceled, is the Machu Picchu ticket refundable?
According to the latest updates from the Ministry of Culture, all ticket sales are final. Therefore, tickets purchased for your trip cannot be rescheduled, transferred to another date or person, and are not refundable.

During the train journey to Machu Picchu, where will my larger luggage stay?
The train company that operates the Machu Picchu route does not allow passengers to carry luggage heavier than 5 kg. Most people separate a smaller backpack for the day in Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu, but wonder where their larger luggage will be during this time. Don’t worry about this as your luggage and belongings will be safely stored in the luggage storage of your hotel in Cusco.

Can I choose seats on the train tours?
PeruRail, the company that provides railway services in Peru, does not allow train seats to be selected. Distribution is done automatically by the company’s system.

What is the best train for Machu Picchu: Expedition or Vistadome Observatory?
We typically recommend that your journey from Cusco to Aguas Calientes be made on the Expedition train and the return on the Vistadome Observatory, for several reasons: the journey is shorter and usually takes place when it’s getting dark, so you can’t appreciate the view as much, and the Expedition is a simpler train with smaller windows. On the return, the journey lasts more than 3 hours and is made during the afternoon, so you can enjoy the larger panoramic windows of the Vistadome Observatory to appreciate the landscape. Additionally, the Vistadome has a special observation car for you to immerse yourself in the Andean landscape, is more comfortable, offers onboard services included, and has some attractions during the journey.

How long are the flights from Brazil to Peru?
Flight duration São Paulo – Lim5h 15m | Rio de Janeiro – Lim5h 30m | Porto Alegre – Lim5h | Brasília – Lim4h 35m | Curitiba – Lim4h 45m

Which airlines fly to Peru?
The companies operating the Brazil – Peru route are: Latam, SKY Airline and COPA Airlines.

On which tours are guides available in Portuguese?
Tours will be in English at Peru’s main tourist destinations: Archaeological City Tour in Cusco, Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu. For the rest, the guide speaks Spanish (or English if necessary) slowly, so there is no difficulty in understanding.

Do packages already include train travel?
Yes, all our packages include round-trip train tickets, except for those who choose to go to Machu Picchu by trail, in which case only the return train ticket to Cusco is included.

What do I need to travel with a minor?
If the minor is traveling without their legal guardians, a completed and signed authorization document is required. For more information, visit the Federal Police website.

Is it advisable to travel to Peru with children?
Yes, there are no problems traveling to Peru with children, the country offers attractions for the whole family and all ages. Our only recommendation is to plan a lighter itinerary without many hiking tours, for example.

Is a visa required to travel to Peru?
It is not necessary, as there is an agreement called Mercosur among some South American countries, waiving the need for a visa for those traveling for tourism and business. However, passage through border posts is mandatory for all people.

Do Brazilians need a passport for Peru?
A passport is not a mandatory document for Brazilians traveling to Peru, but it can be used as long as it is valid for up to 6 months from your travel date.

What document is required for Brazilians to travel to Peru?
The only documentation required for Brazilians traveling to Peru is: the ID (RG), issued within the last 10 years and in good condition. A passport can also be used, but is not mandatory.

Is a yellow fever vaccine mandatory?
The yellow fever vaccine is not mandatory for those visiting Peru. However, it is an extra precaution, especially since it is a tropical country.

Is travel insurance necessary?
Travel insurance is not mandatory, but is extremely important, especially for tourists who choose to explore Peru’s trails or practice adventure sports in the country. To purchase the service, contact your travel agent.

What about electrical outlets and voltage in Peru?
The standard voltage in Peru is 230 volts, however some hotels have outlets with 110 volts, in which case there are transformers that reduce the voltage.

What is the best currency to use in Peru, Dollars or Nuevo Sol, and where can I exchange money?
Almost all establishments accept dollar payments, so this will be the most used currency in the country. The ideal is to have a larger amount of dollars and a smaller amount of nuevo sol, the local currency, for shopping at handicraft fairs, for example. We recommend that you bring real and exchange it in Peru, at reliable exchange houses recommended by the agency. International credit cards are also accepted by merchants.

What is the climate like in Peru?
The country’s climate is divided into two main seasons: rainy and dry. The rainy season runs from December to late March and the dry season from April to November. In the Cusco and Machu Picchu region, there is considerable temperature variation, but normally the maximum is around 20°C and the minimum near 0°C. In the Lima region, Peru’s coast, temperatures are higher, ranging from 12°C to 30°C.
